Before European settlement in the 1790s, the region now known as Seven Hills, was originally inhabited and populated for thousands of years by indigenous communities most likely to associate with the Darug nation's Warmuli and Too Gagal clans. 

The area of Seven Hills was first seen by Europeans quite early on in the establishment of the Modern South Wales colony, probably by Arthur Phillip as early as April 1788 or more definitely by Watkin Tench in June 1789.
