About Ryde

Ryde is an Australian suburb of Sydney, New South Wales. 

Ryde sits 13 km north-west of the central business district of Sydney and 8 km east of Parramatta. 

The suburb  is also the administrative hub of the City of Ryde municipality, and part of the Northern Suburban district. It sits on the Parramatta River north bank.

History of Ryde

The town of Ryde on Wight Island is named after Ryde. It should be implemented by G.M. Pope who was raised in Wight Island from Ryde, who worked in the town and opened the Ryde Shop.

Tourist attraction of Ryde

Santa Rosa Park is situated between the bridge path and the Quarry Lane. It features a separate walking and motorcycling lane. 

Shrimptons Creek flows into the Lane Cove River in a northeasterly path across the forest. The park is used for cricket and football. The park is also accessible from Buna Lane, Minga Street and McAuley Road, where it once was quarry and brickworking.

Schools of Ryde

Ryde institutions include public schools likeRyde Secondary School (formerly Malvina High School) and Ryde Public School, Tucker Lane. 

Few private schools including Holy Cross College and Northcross Christian School are also included in this system. The Sydney German School existed from 1992 to 2008 in Ryde. It was relocated in August 2008 to Terrey Hills.
