About Eastwood

Eastwood is a suburb in the Northern Suburbs region of Sydney, Australia. It is about 17 kilometres north-west of the Sydney central business district in the City of Ryde and the City of Parramatta.

History of Eastwood

The Wallumedegal Aboriginal tribe is originally thought to have inhabited the area, known as Walumetta. 

The Europeans settled in Walumetta and between the years of 1790 and 1803 when the area was granted to Royal Marines and NSW Corps.

It is 1835 when the land was purchased by William Rutledge and named it "Eastwood".
